Roving Mars shows the surface of that red planet as seen through the eyes of Spirit and Opportunity, two Mars Exploration Rovers. Filming began in January 2004, when the Rovers landed on Mars. As they explored the rugged terrain, they sent images back to Earth. This footage has been incorporated into the film to give viewers the feeling of actually walking on the planet. The film speculates about the answer to the ages-old question of whether there is, in fact, life on Mars.
