Event Marks Milestones in Conservation and Environmental Advocacy
Beijing, China — On November 30, 2024, the China Science and Technology Museum celebrated the premiere of the giant screen film Jane Goodall: Reasons for Hope, marking a momentous occasion for conservation and education. The event was made even more special by the presence of Dr. Jane Goodall herself, as she celebrates her 90th birthday.
Dr. Goodall, an iconic primatologist and conservationist, is globally recognized for her groundbreaking research on chimpanzees and her unwavering dedication to wildlife conservation and environmental sustainability. Her work has inspired generations to advocate for the planet, with a special focus on engaging youth through education.
Presented by ST Giant Films, the exclusive distributor in China, the premiere featured a special remastered version of the film using the CINITY projection system. This advanced technology enhanced the immersive experience for an audience of over 600 attendees. The film, produced by Science North in association with the Jane Goodall Institute and distributed worldwide by Cosmic Picture, showcases Dr. Goodall’s remarkable journey and her hopeful vision for the future.
The premiere also highlighted the 30th anniversary of Dr. Goodall’s Roots & Shoots program, which fosters environmental stewardship and action among young people. Audience members were particularly moved by scenes of Dr. Goodall, at age 88, flying a motor paraglider alongside birds over the Alps—a poignant symbol of her enduring spirit and commitment to nature.
