Festival Invitation

The 9th Beijing International
Film Festival (BJIFF) will be held in Beijing from April 13th to 20th,
2019. As the host unit for “Science & Technology Section” authorized by the
Beijing International Film Festival Organizing Committee, China Science and
Technology Museum warmly invites you to submit  special-effect
films (dome films, giant screen films, and 4D films) to show in the “Science
& Technology Section” of The 9th Beijing International Film
Festival.

As
one of the big events of BJIFF, the
“Science & Technology Section” jointly organized by China Science and
Technology Museum and the Professional Committee
for Science Popularization Venues and
Special-effect Theaters of Chinese Association of Natural Science Museums,
based on the dome films, giant screen films, 4D films, simulation films and
other special- effect films, focusing on the roles of films in promoting the
popularization of science and technology, aims to give the public an ex
cellent
experience of popular science films and to build up a platform for
exchanges
in the special-effect
film industry. With the active participation and support of domestic and
foreign filmmakers, the “Science & Technology Section” has bloomed into a
comprehensive event with such 5 major sections as Special-effect Film Panorama,
Science Popularization activities, Excellent Works Selection, Exhibition and
Exchanges, and Academic Forum. It has attracted high attention and widespread
involvement among the domestic science popularization venues in China. This
international platform has promoted the trade and corporation through
exhibition and communication. Each year, a number of outstanding films have
emerged here and showed in China Science and Technology Museum and many other
science popularization venues.

Many excellent works will be showed in
the “Science & Technology Section” of BJIFF from April 5th to
May 5th, 2019 in the special-effect theaters of China Science and
Technology Museum. Meanwhile, the managers and experts from film productions
and science centers in China will be invited to attend the Excellent Works Selection, Exhibition and Exchanges,
and Academic Forum. Thus, we build a platform of exchange and cooperation to
promote the prosperity of the special-effect film industry. Based on the aspirations above mentioned, we sincerely
invite you to join in.
