October 26, 2016—IMAX Corporation has reported third-quarter 2016 revenues of $86.6 million and net income attributable to common shareholders of $2.5 million, or $0.04 per share. Adjusted net income attributable to common shareholders was $7.9 million, or $0.12 per diluted share.
October 11, 2016—IMAX Corporation today announced an agreement with leading European exhibitor, ODEON & UCI Cinemas Group, to install the first pilot IMAX VR™ centre in Europe at its Printworks multiplex location in Manchester, England. The centre, which the parties are planning to open by the end of 2016, will deliver guests immersive, multi-dimensional VR experiences, including entertainment content and games.

D3D Cinema (D3D) and Carnegie Science Center (CSC) in Pittsburgh are pleased to announce that D3D will install a premium laser-illuminated giant-screen cinema system in Fall 2017 as part of the CSC’s expansion and renovation project. The project also includes a new Science Pavilion, which will house STEM learning labs, a Special Exhibitions Gallery for large-scale travelling exhibitions, a conference and event space with unparalleled views of Pittsburgh’s Point, and outdoor learning spaces on the riverfront.

October 4, 2016—The Giant Screen Cinema Association (GSCA) is pleased to announce the winners of its 2016 Achievement Awards, which recognize excellence in giant screen filmmaking, marketing, and lifelong learning. The awards were announced the evening of October 4 at the GSCA 2016 International Conference and Trade Show in Toronto during a ceremony at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel. IMAX Corporation, sponsor of the opening reception, presented the IMAX Maximum Image Awards during the ceremony as well.

December 22, 2015—The Giant Screen Cinema Association (GSCA) is pleased to announce that its 2016 International Conference and Trade Show will be held on October 4-7 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The Cineplex Scotiabank IMAX Theatre will host flat-screen presentations on the IMAX next-generation digital laser projection system, and the Ontario Science Centre will host 15/70 film presentations on the dome screen in the Shoppers Drug Mart Omnimax Theatre. The Fairmont Royal York is the official event hotel. Registration and film submissions for the conference will open in April 2016.
