January 16, 2020—The China Science and Technology Museum (CSTM) warmly invites producers and distributors to submit films for the “Science & Technology” section of the 10th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF), which will be held in Beijing on April 19-26, 2020. The festival is ratified by the Chinese Government and hosted by China Film Administration, People’s Government of Beijing Municipality, and China Media Group. Films must be submitted by February 15, 2020.
Under the principle of “Share the Screen, Shape the Future,” the festival gathers film resources from all over the world to enhance the international exchange and cooperation of the film industry. As one of the main events of BJIFF, the “Science & Technology” section—which is jointly organized by CSTM and the Professional Committee for Science Popularization Venues and Special-Effect Theaters of the Chinese Association of Natural Science Museums—will showcase dome films, giant screen films, 4D films, simulation films, and other special-effect films.
This event focusing on the role of films in promoting science and technology aims to give the public the opportunity to experience popular science films and promote the scientific literacy of the general public. Each year a number of outstanding films have emerged at the event and then screened at CSTM and many other science venues. Films will be showed in the “Science & Technology” section of BJIFF from April 4-May 5, 2020, in the special-effect theaters of CSTM.
Meanwhile, delegates representing film production and science centers in China will be invited to attend the Excellent Works Selection, Exhibition Hall and Exchanges, and Academic Forum to build a platform of exchange and cooperation to promote the prosperity of the special-effect film industry.
