January 6, 2016—The Naval Aviation Museum theater will close for two months while undergoing an extensive renovation, its first major upgrade in 20 years, which will include a conversion from film to digital with a Christie premium laser-illuminated 2D projection system and full 4K resolution, installed by D3D Cinema. The screen will be the first of its kind in an institutional theater in the world, ending the era of film at the Naval Aviation Museum.
