February 12, 2018—Evans and Sutherland is pleased to announce and welcome Mike Lutz as Vice President of New Business Development. His new role will build on E&S’s existing leadership in dome theater display by developing new business, creative partnerships, and unique technology opportunities.

Lutz brings three decades of experience in display technology, education, and product licensing for cultural attractions including IMAX Corporation, MacGillivray Freeman Films, and Laser Fantasy International. “We’re excited about the new business possibilities Mike creates for Evans and Sutherland and its subsidiary, Spitz Inc.” said Kirk Johnson, President and COO of Evans & Sutherland. “His creativity and leadership have shaped some of the world’s most respected institutions.”

Lutz has also acted as a successful consultant to leading national museums and organizations such as Kennedy Space Center and Destination Cinema, and is responsible for many partnerships and business relationships in the industry. He’s played strong guidance roles in organizations like the Giant Screen Cinema Association, shaping direction that will affect prestigious institutions for years to come.

“There are many opportunities in this rewarding field, but the vision at Evans and Sutherland makes it an exciting place to be,” said Mike Lutz. “E&S’s pursuit of innovation has been its story for many decades.”

Lutz’s position at E&S will focus on new possibilities for technology and programming beyond the company’s current immersive‐theater specialty. “Mike Lutz’s new position strengthens our commitment to E&S innovation and the exploration of new growth possibilities,” says Jon Shaw, Chief Executive Officer of Evans & Sutherland. “We expect to bring innovative new products to cultural attractions and higher levels of success for Evans and Sutherland and its shareholders with Mike in this exciting new role.”
