April 19, 2021—The Giant Screen Cinema Association (GSCA) Event Planning Committee and Board of Directors have made a unanimous decision to hold the GSCA 2021 International Conference virtually later this year. Dates are yet to be determined but likely the virtual conference will be held in September, when the conference is traditionally held in person. While we are all eager to get together in person, it is prudent to make this decision now to allow planning to begin.

The Virtual 2021 Conference in September will include online film screenings, professional development sessions, an innovations session, networking opportunities, and all the other elements that GSCA has successfully incorporated into its two previous virtual events.

The GSCA Virtual Film Expo kicked off today, April 19, with over 450 registered participants. Sessions are being broadcast on the Filmocracy virtual event platform and continue April 21 and 23, while on-demand film screenings are available April 12-30 for viewing at participants’ convenience.

GSCA hopes to resume in-person events in 2022, starting with the Film Expo, in the first quarter of 2022. Dates and location for that event will be announced at a future date.
