November 30, 2020—Following ten months of closure to allow for a major revamp, the Science Museum’s popular IMAX cinema returns to cement its place as Europe’s leading destination for film fans. Bringing together IMAX 70mm film and next-generation IMAX with Laser alongside the museum’s incredible objects, the newly named IMAX: The Ronson Theatre will present a unique and truly immersive story-telling experience. Opening on Wednesday 9 December, the IMAX will launch with the UK premiere of BBC Earth’s highly anticipated documentary Antarctica 3D, narrated by Academy Award®-nominated actor Benedict Cumberbatch and distributed by SK Films.
January 20, 2020—London's Science Museum is adding the IMAX with Laser system alongside its IMAX 17/50 film projector, making it one of only two screens in Europe to feature digital and analogue cinema side by side. December 4, 2019—The Saint Louis Science Center reopened the newly renovated OMNIMAX Theater on Friday, November 29, after undergoing a four-month, comprehensive update, the largest since the theater opened in 1991. The renovated OMNIMAX Theater is just one of four domes in the world featuring IMAX with Laser.

August 2, 2019—The Saint Louis Science Center’s OMNIMAX Theater will close July 29-late November to undertake
its largest renovation since it was built in 1991, converting the film
projection system to IMAX’s next-generation laser technology designed
for 180-degree domed theater environments – IMAX® with Laser.
