August 18, 2022—The Max McGraw Wildlife Foundation, Dorsey Pictures, distributor SK Films and their partners are proud to announce that Wings Over Water has been named as a finalist for the Best Ecosystem Film and Sound Categories at the Jackson Wild Media Awards. The Awards will take place on September 29 at Seewinkel National Park in Austria. In addition, the film has also been nominated for the Children’s Award at the prestigious Wildlife Film Festival in Rotterdam. The awards will take place October 8 in the Netherlands.

Winners will be announced March 3.

October 5, 2021—Congratulations to BBC Earth and SK Films on winning Best Cinematography for Antarctica at this year's Jackson Wild Media Awards! Cinematographers include Alexander Vail, Hugh Miller, John Aitchison, Rolf Steinmann, Mark MacEwen, John Brown, Bertie Gregory, Pete McCowen, Ted Giffords, Dan Beecham, Espen Rekdal, and Justin Hofman. 

This year’s Jackson Wild award submissions included over 750 category entries from nearly 30 different countries. Finalists were selected by more than 150 international judges who together screened over 3,000 hours of media. ​A distinguished panel of final judges from around the globe selected the 2021 Jackson Wild Media Award Winners directly prior to the Summit. Winners were announced during the Jackson Wild Media Awards Ceremony on Sept. 30, 2021. Antarctica is produced by BBC Earth and distributed by SK Films. August 4, 2021—Congratulations to all the Jackson Wild Media Awards finalists! Included in this year’s finalists are giant screen productions from GSCA members BBC Studios Natural History Unit and SK Films for Antarctica, nominated for Ecosystem-Long Form, Original Music Score, Cinematography, and Educational/informational; and Terra Mater Factual Studios and Cosmic Picture for The Arctic: Our Last Great Wilderness, nominated for Educational/Informational.

March 5, 2021—Congratulations to Backyard Wilderness on winning People & Forest: Long Form in the Jackson Wild World Wildlife Day Film Showcase. The Secretariat of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), Jackson Wild, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)  teamed up to organize an international film showcase focusing on the immense value of our planet’s forests, their extensive ecosystem services and the millions of human livelihoods they sustain. The festival featured over 275 films from all over the world. Backyard Wilderness is produced by Archipelago Films, Arise Media, HHMI Tangled Bank Studios, SK Films and Reconsider. Over 275 films were entered for this festival, which is organized by Jackson Wild. The winners will be announced during the first-ever global virtual World Wildlife Day celebration on March 3. August 6, 2019—Jackson Wild has announced the finalists in its 2019 Media Awards, and three giant screen releases are included in the list. Backyard Wilderness, Great Bear Rainforest, and Superpower Dogs are all finalists for the Best Engaging Youth Film, and Backyard Wilderness is also up for Best Ecosystem Film. This year's submissions for the Jackson Wild Media Awards included over 1,000 entries competing for more than 30 awards. Winners will be announced on September 26 at the Jackson Wild Summit.
