August 18, 2022—The Max McGraw Wildlife Foundation, Dorsey Pictures, distributor SK Films and their partners are proud to announce that Wings Over Water has been named as a finalist for the Best Ecosystem Film and Sound Categories at the Jackson Wild Media Awards. The Awards will take place on September 29 at Seewinkel National Park in Austria. In addition, the film has also been nominated for the Children’s Award at the prestigious Wildlife Film Festival in Rotterdam. The awards will take place October 8 in the Netherlands.

Winners will be announced March 3.

October 5, 2021—Congratulations to BBC Earth and SK Films on winning Best Cinematography for Antarctica at this year's Jackson Wild Media Awards! Cinematographers include Alexander Vail, Hugh Miller, John Aitchison, Rolf Steinmann, Mark MacEwen, John Brown, Bertie Gregory, Pete McCowen, Ted Giffords, Dan Beecham, Espen Rekdal, and Justin Hofman. 

This year’s Jackson Wild award submissions included over 750 category entries from nearly 30 different countries. Finalists were selected by more than 150 international judges who together screened over 3,000 hours of media. ​A distinguished panel of final judges from around the globe selected the 2021 Jackson Wild Media Award Winners directly prior to the Summit. Winners were announced during the Jackson Wild Media Awards Ceremony on Sept. 30, 2021. Antarctica is produced by BBC Earth and distributed by SK Films. March 5, 2021—Congratulations to Backyard Wilderness on winning People & Forest: Long Form in the Jackson Wild World Wildlife Day Film Showcase. The Secretariat of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), Jackson Wild, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)  teamed up to organize an international film showcase focusing on the immense value of our planet’s forests, their extensive ecosystem services and the millions of human livelihoods they sustain. The festival featured over 275 films from all over the world. Backyard Wilderness is produced by Archipelago Films, Arise Media, HHMI Tangled Bank Studios, SK Films and Reconsider. November 25, 2020—SK Films and BBC Earth Natural History Unit announce the release of their upcoming documentary, Antarctica, which will be narrated by Academy Award® nominee actor, Benedict Cumberbatch. The film is set to open in select giant screen theaters and museums in 2021. Trailer premieres on November 25.

June 19, 2020—SK Films, Dorsey Pictures, Max McGraw Wildlife Foundation and Archipelago Films announced today that Wings Over Water, narrated by award-winning actor Michael Keaton, will release in IMAX and giant screen theaters in the spring of 2021.

January 31, 2019—SK Films is thrilled to announce that Volcanoes: The Fires of Creation won Best 3D Documentary at the highly prestigious Advanced Imaging Society’s Lumière Awards presentation last night in Los Angeles. The Lumière Awards recognize outstanding international achievement in the creation of immersive storytelling using advanced visual technologies. Volcanoes is an SK Films release of a Digital Crossing Films production, in association with the Giant Dome Theater Consortium.
