Best Film Launch by a Theater
Award Overview
This award honors the most effective and creative marketing campaign developed and executed by a GSCA member distributor to support the launch of a giant screen film released between June 1, 2024, and May 31, 2025.
Note: If the campaign launch took place within 60 days of the eligibility deadline, distributors may choose to submit their campaign for the following year’s award instead.
Who Can Enter
- Only GSCA member theater are eligible.
- Theaters may submit multiple campaigns.
- Campaigns in any language are welcome, but submissions must be in English.
Judging Panel
Entries will be judged by a panel of:
- Marketing professionals from GSCA member theaters
- External marketing experts in the cinema and entertainment sectors
Judging Criteria
Entries will be evaluated based on three key areas:
Marketing Plan (20% of score)
Describe the campaign’s context, goals, strategies, and tactics.
Include your market size and budget, including in-kind sponsorships, to help judges fairly compare across different markets.
Limit: 600 words (approx. 2,700 characters)
Implementation (60% of score)
Detail how the campaign was executed, including elements such as:
- Public relations
- Promotions
- Advertising
- Social media
- Collateral and other marketing tools
Judges will evaluate the creativity and quality of execution.

Measurement of Outcome (20% of score)
- Explain the impact of the campaign and how results matched goals.
- Include quantifiable results such as attendance, box office, impressions, new audience reach, etc.
- This section is mandatory for judging consideration.
- Limit: 600 words (approx. 2,700 characters)

- PDFs or scans of ads, press coverage, educational materials, etc.
- Links to campaign-related websites, videos, or social media
- Event photos
- Media files (.mp3, .mp4, etc.)
