Horses: The Story of Equus follows the lives of three horses, all born on the same night. One becomes a racehorse and her story takes us into that extraordinary world where the ancestry of every horse can be traced back to 1791 and where their overwhelming instinct to run is highly valued. The second is trained as an equestrian horse, but becomes a stunt horse in the movies. The third horse escapes from people and joins the feral herds in the wild. There, undisturbed by human contact, the horses revert to natural, herd behavior, much as they may have been like before being domesticated.
