In August 2022, GSCA conducted a follow-up to the State of the Giant Screen Industry survey. The previous versions were completed in August 2020 for presentation during the Virtual 2020 Conference, April 2021 for presentation during the Virtual Film Expo, and October 2021 for presentation during the GSCA Member Meeting in November 2021. As with the previous versions, the key contact at current and recently lapsed GSCA member organizations from all sectors of the industry (theaters, production, distribution, and related businesses) received the survey. Results of this Q3 2022 update were compiled and presented by GSCA staff during the GSCA Member Meeting held on October 12, 2022, via Zoom. We hope to continue doing this survey once a year to gauge industry practices and trends, and to measure industry confidence.
